Dr. Mary Potter has proven her skills as a cosmetic dentist whose scientific knowledge and artistic ability allow her to perform smile design makeovers with incredible results. She has completed hundreds of hours of post-graduate training in cosmetic dentistry at the renowned PAC-Live: University of Pacific Continuum on Aesthetic Dentistry. With this strong focus on aesthetics, she was selected to be an instructor with the Hornbrook Group, where she travels throughout the country teaching other dentists the art of Smile Design.
Dr. Potter believes that improving her patients’ smile through conservative cosmetic dental techniques has a positive impact on their overall appearance and self confidence.
Among other procedures, she focuses on porcelain veneers, tooth whitening, ceramic restorations for the posterior teeth and the cosmetic smile lift. Her goal with every procedure is to create undetectable, lifelike, aesthetic restorations in a comfortable, spa like setting. Through her extensive experience as a reconstructive and cosmetic dentist, she was featured on NBC10 performing a live smile makeover.
Dr. Mary Potter received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Temple University School of Dentistry and is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. She also has a BA from Lehigh University and advanced studies form Columbia University.
Dr. John Potter – Periodontal Specialist
Dr. John Potter was born and rasied in San Mateo, California. He attended Menlo College in Atherton, California on a soccer scholarship and graduated with distinction in the Alpha Chi National Honor Society. He then graduated from Temple University Dental School in 1993 as a member of the Omnicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society. From there, he completed a one year general practice residency at Staten Island University Hospital in New York. Honing in his specialty, he began an intensive three year program in Periodontology and Implantology at Temple University School of Dentistry, during which time, he was also a clinical assistant professor, earning his certificate in Periodontology in 1997.
The scope of Dr. Potters practice involves the management of a full range of periodontal services including advanced periodontal case management, implant treatment and most importantly, cutting edge periodontal therapy with the only FDA approved Laser for Periodontal Treatment, Periolase by Millenium Dental.
While maintaining successful practices in both Allentown and Haverford, Dr. Potter continues his passion for athletics as a World Class Ironman Triathlete. Since 1984, he has completed hundreds of triathlons around the world and 27 Ironman races qualifying him for the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii 10 times and counting. Dr. Potter has received multiple appointments to All-American Status by the United States Triathlon Federation for his high national ranking in his age group. In addition to his athletic endeavors, he also enjoys time with his family snow skiing, water skiing, and playing golf along with serving as the soccer coach for his son’s team in Lower Merion for the past 7 years.
Rachel – Dental Hygienist
Rachel, a New Jersey native completed her Dental Hygiene education with honors at Harcum College. Being a dental hygienist allows her to partner with our patients in helping them to achieve optimal oral health, as well as creating a rapport and genuinely caring for the people and families that she has the privilege of serving. Rachel’s hygiene treatment is both proficient and gentle. She is licensed to administer local anesthesia, which helps her ensure her clients’ comfort during advanced care visits. She really enjoys the opportunity to help our patients understand why complete oral care is so beneficial to their overall health. Her enthusiasm and motivation will bring a smile to your face.
Rachel’s passion lies in working with people in whatever capacity, whether it be improving your oral health as a dental hygienist or pushing your limits during the group fitness classes she teaches. You can find Rachel hitting the books as she continues her education at West Chester University, and spending time with her friends, family and cats.
